Canine Good Citizen
The AKC's Canine Good Citizen® (CGC)
Program is a certification program that is
designed to reward dogs who have good manners at
home and in the community. All dogs who pass the
10-step CGC test receive a certificate from the
American Kennel Club. Many dog owners choose
Canine Good Citizen training as the first step
in training their dogs. The Canine Good Citizen
Program lays the foundation for other AKC
activities such as obedience, agility, tracking,
and performance events. The hope is that CGC
will be only a beginning for you and your dog
and that after passing the CGC test, you'll
continue training in other performance events.
Board Training
Leave your dog in a safe,
structured, and fun environment while you are on
vacation - Return to your well behaved friend with
his or her new skills.

Behavior Modification
The elimination of behavior
problems begins with obedience training,
however, sometimes just a session or two with a
professional trainer is all that is needed.
This program is for owners who are having
specific problems with their dog, such as
aggression, jumping, barking, chewing, biting,
digging, etc.
Breed Selection Help
Find the dog of your choice for
temperament and specific personality traits.
Problem Behavior Solving
It doesn't matter how old your
dog is or how hard he or she may seem to train.
A well trained dog is not only a pleasure to
own, he is a good will ambassador for the entire
canine community. All dogs were bred for a
purpose and knowing and understanding that
purpose can help you understand and train your
dog.
Housetraining 101
Are you going nuts trying to
housetrain your dog or puppy? There are easy ways
to teach your dog not to eliminate in the
house.
Competition
If you are interested in competing in AKC
events, help is available to get started. The
American Kennel Club
sponsors competition events in the area
regularly. An obedience trial, for example, is
of many dog related sports, the purpose of which
is to demonstrate your dog's ability to follow
specified routines, and to emphasize the
usefulness of the dog as a companion to humans.
